Fridays at 6 p.m., beginning Feb. 21, in St. Peter's Anglican Church (45-60 minute sessions)
Facilitated by St. Peter's Youth Assistant, Liam Getty, the Outside The Spotlight bible study will take advantage of a traditional tool of the Anglican Church, the BCP's lectionary, to interact with a wide variety of scripture from both the old and new testaments. For each session, there will be numerous options to chose from which will be decided upon through an opening prayer as an exercise in listening to the Holy Spirit. The purpose of this bible study is to lead participants towards the following outcomes:
- Tackling scripture as a team of equals
- Learning how to ask questions
- Learning how and where to find answers
- Engaging with lesser read portions of scripture or dissecting known ones
- Practicing hearing the prompts of the Holy Spirit
No prerequisite resources are required, but participants are encouraged to bring their own bibles for annotations.
