FUNDS AVAILABLE

Phase #1. Recovery for black-owned brick and mortar businesses in Oakland:
Immediate response funds for repairing damages, providing storefront protection, and replacing equipment losses as a result of protests and looting. Funds will be distributed on a first come first served basis after application verification.

Phase #2. Technical Assistance for all (including home & online) black-owned businesses located in Oakland:
Paid services rendered by Black professionals specializing in strategic support and critical resources for reopening businesses during the pandemic, including help negotiating leases

ELIGIBILITY
Black-owned businesses located and doing business in Oakland, CA.

PROCESS
-Submit application form below indicating Phase 1 and/or Phase 2 needs
-If applying for Phase 1, please provide photos of damage or protection measures via the application or direct to apply@oaklandbbf.org Provide copies of invoices or receipts for all costs via the application or direct to apply@oaklandbbf.org
- Complete applications will be reviewed within in 3-5 days and approved applications will be distributed via check

-Glass repair and replacement
-Graffiti coating repair and replacement
-Graffiti abatement
-Power washing and sidewalk cleaning
-Trash and debris removal
-Repainting
-Replacement of exterior fixtures, grilles or protective gates
-Signage replacement

INTERIOR
-Graffiti abatement and repainting
-Replacement of merchandising fixtures
-Debris removal and cleaning

PHASE #2: Technical Assistance

Oakland Black Business Fund connects entrepreneurs to technical service providers to help them stabilize their business and prepare for the next phases of growth. Any costs of service are covered by Oakland Black Business Fund.

Options include but are not limited to the following: *

Accounting services including help with taxes, loans and applying for other grants

Lease modification and negotiation support for outstanding rent debt balance

Management consulting to modify/update your business model

Online sales, marketing and social media including website updates and production

PPE and equipment purchasing for a safe reopening

Design build services for physical store improvements
