Brief Outline of the AIChE Group Mentorship Program -

This is a semester-long program designed to connect underclassmen to upperclassmen, their peers, and AIChE. Ideally, participants will be matched into groups of 4-6 (2 mentors and 2-4 mentees), and AIChE will host events for those involved in the program 1-2 times a month such as movie night, Academic workshop, etc. Ultimately, mentees will be able to gain insight about academics, social life, careers, etc. from their mentor and their peers. Groups are expected to attend AIChE events together, and are expected to continuously develop their relationships outside of the scheduled mentorship nights. Mentors are required to attend a workshop prior to starting.

Mentor Expectations
- Communicate with their mentees and peers
- Lead the group, encourage meetings
- Offer advice, information, and guidance to mentees on how to deal with undergraduate affairs such as academics, research, networking, campus life, etc.
- Talk or meet with mentees in person or via text, email, call, skype, etc. during the program, and during AIChE events/mentorship events.
- Be open minded and patient with the mentees
- Check in periodically with Mentorship Committee throughout semester
- Have fun! Participate in AIChE Mentorship activities together

Mentee Expectations
- Communicate with their mentor and peers
- Participate in AIChE Mentorship activities together
- Have fun!
