Research on Functional Textiles at Gashti's Lab
Join us for the ITS webinar, "Research on Functional Textiles at Gashti's Lab" presented by Mazeyar Parvinzadeh Gashti, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Pittsburg State University, Kansas, USA.

Taking place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11 AM MT.

In this session, Dr. Parvinzadeh Gashti will:

Summarize the latest ongoing research at Gashti’s Textile Research and Testing Laboratory regarding integration of fiber science, materials chemistry, and textile engineering to develop high-performance and sustainable fibrous materials. The laboratory specializes in:

  • Natural fiber processing and modification

  • Sustainable dyeing and finishing technologies

  • Nonwoven and fibrous structure fabrication

  • Polymer spinning (wet and melt spinning)

  • Functional surface engineering

  • Performance characterization of textile and fiber-based systems

The lab’s infrastructure enables full-cycle development—from raw fiber treatment and web formation to performance validation and product prototyping.
