Open Hillel Membership

Open Hillel is committed to democratic accountability in the Jewish community. We have launched an official membership program to ensure that students who are committed to making change in the Jewish community, and are aligned with our mission, vision, and principles will continue to have a say in the future of the organization.

Who is eligible to become a member?

Students or recent alum who are committed to participating in leading and guiding Open Hillel’s future. This includes working toward Open Hillel’s mission, broader vision, and our core principles. This also includes working committed future participation in Open Hillel programing and campaigns. We ask for a small financial contribution in order to become a member. Membership will be renewed each year.


How do I become a member?

If you have already been involved in Open Hillel programs or campaigns, reach out to a steering committee or staff member. You can also fill out this interest form.

Why should I become a member?

By becoming a member of Open Hillel, you will be counted among the hundreds of students, professors, rabbis, and community members calling for open discourse, pluralism and democratic accountability in the Jewish community. You will be able to elect our board members and steering committee, vote for amendments to our bylaws, and give input as to the direction of the organization.
