Cricket Registration Form - Term 1
Kia ora parents / caregivers,

If your child is interested in playing cricket in Term 1, 2020, please read on for all the information and then fill out the below form. Once filled out, press the send button and all details will be sent through to our school sports coordinator.

There are two cricket teams to be involved in, the hardball and the softball team. The softball team games are played on Friday evenings, normally from 5:30pm onwards and can be for years 2- 6. The hardball team is for our experienced year 5 & 6 cricket players and is played on Saturdays. The cost of playing softball will be $30 per player and the cost of hardball will be $40 per player.

When filling out this form, please consider whether you can help out the cricket team either through coaching or in other ways. We always seem to need some people to carry gear to games and give the kids some pointers. While usually most people are willing to help out where they can, it is important that every team has a coach and manager - parent volunteers. Please consider carefully if you can take this role and if you can, indicate on the form below. Without these people, the teams will not be entered into the competition.

The first cricket games are on the 14th of February for softball and the 15th of February for hardball. The final games are 27th/28th of March.

Practice times / sessions will be organised by the coach who looks after your team. They will be in contact with you early on to confirm when these will take place. The hardball teams will unlikely be able to practice before their first games as these are at the end of the first week of school.

For those considering coaching, commencing Term 1 2020 all teams must have an allocated coach who has passed a New Zealand Cricket coaching qualification. For those coaches who look after a Friday night team, they must complete the “Foundation” coaching course whilst those coaching any other team must complete the “Advanced Foundation” coaching course. Both the courses are mainly online with a 90min mandatory practical component. The online segments do not need to be completed in one go and will take around an hour or 2 to complete. Once the coach has registered with NZC, we will send out an invitation to attend one of the 6 practical courses will be scheduled some time early in the term.

Thank you for reading through this information. If you are still keen for your child to play, then please fill out the below form. If you have any further questions before filling this out then please email me at
