PLEASE READ: This application is open to anyone who is aged 18+ in any degree program or field. If you are under 18, please reach out to lessonleadersprogram@gmail.com for more information about how to bring the One Health message to your community. The One Health concept is the connection between public health, and the health of the environment, plants and animals. The One Health approach is teamwork between people of different backgrounds, disciplines and strengths to prevent and solve the health challenges of the world.
One Health Lessons is an educational charity (a 501(c)(3) organization) with a mission of inspiring children and adults around the world to value the interconnection between public health and the health of animals, plants, and the environment. Its vision is to transform societies to create a safer and more sustainable planet for all.
Its Train-the-Trainer Program (known as the Lesson Leaders Program, LLP) trains One Health-minded adults to improve their communication and teaching skills while building community awareness and acceptance of One Health actions. The LLP often brings its trainees into traditional and non-traditional primary and secondary school classrooms where the students learn about the much-needed connection between the health of people, animals, and the environment. For more information, view recordings of previously taught One Health Lessons material
here.

During training, Lesson Leaders:
1. Attend a single 1-2 hour orientation session
2. Observe at least 1 live lesson *or* pass a quiz associated with a recorded lesson
3. Teach a class (remotely or in-person)
After that, the trainee receives a certificate. It is expected that all Certified Lesson Leaders continue teaching about One Health (using material from
www.OneHealthLessons.org) in their own communities on their own time and advance to becoming a One Health Lessons Ambassador. More information about that program is found here: https://onehealthlessons.org/ambassador
Please note that lesson material can be printed and used in areas without stable internet connection/electricity. An explanatory video of how to print can be found
here.
To learn more about the overall impact of the Train-the-Trainer Program, a recent publication ("
Evaluation of a global training program in One Health communication") can be found here. ________________________________________________
