NNCA is a contemporary visual art organisation in the centre of Northampton. NNCA studios are available to artists and creative businesses to hire; it is our intention to support artists who need a space and who want to work in a lively and creative environment in the centre of Northampton.
Studios are located at 24 Guildhall Road across the ground and first floor of the building and come unfurnished, heated with WI-FI and 24-hour access.
The first three months of the hire form a probationary period, after which we reserve the right to terminate the agreement immediately if the arrangement is not satisfactorily working. A minimum of one calendar months’ notice is required after the probationary period from either side to terminate the agreement.
We are looking for artists and creative individuals who will not only value the creative community but also contribute to its success. We are looking for a level of commitment that ensures that the studios are occupied.
Hire fees will be payable monthly in advance on the 1st of the month. A month’s deposit is required upon signing the agreement. In addition, a deposit is also required for the keys. Both deposits will be returned at the end of the agreement and upon satisfactory inspection of the unit.
Studios can be shared – simply mark the studio application with the names of both applicants with the word STUDIO SHARE COMPLETE, or, if you are looking for someone to share a studio with, mark the application STUDIO SHARE SEARCH.
Minor alterations such as adding shelving or hanging systems must be agreed upon with NNCA management in advance, and any damage caused by work not agreed will incur a cost. Studio condition will be assessed at the start of each tenancy, and any damage should be made good or repairs paid for.
Risk Assessment will be the responsibility of the tenant but will be undertaken with NNCA staff at the start of the tenancy. There will be restrictions on such items as the storage of flammable materials or the use of electrical items. Studios will be lockable, but NNCA management will have access for Health and Safety purposes.
Hire of studios is subject to full terms and conditions within the studio hire agreement and keyholder agreement.
