Young Illustrators Studio is looking for an art teacher to teach our online live classes! We are looking for someone passionate about art, with an interest in mentoring children and teens, and experience in teaching. Our learners are ages 6-18 and are located all around the world.
Job Title: Online Art and Writing Teacher
REQUIREMENTS:
• Professional artist and/or author with demonstrated expertise in your mediums
• Online portfolio & CV/resume detailing relevant experience
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills: Kind, empathetic, patient, encouraging disposition & loves working with children & teens
• Actively fosters a friendly, supportive, empowering, inclusive classroom culture
• Ability to engage with young learners across diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities and orientations
• Proficiency in or willingness to become proficient in: Zoom, Google Drive & Slack
• Have a well-lit, professional background while teaching
• Computer/laptop for face camera, down-facing art camera (a phone will work) & high speed internet
• Communicate quarterly with families, starting with a first affirming update right after a learner's first class
• Stay flexible to strategic changes and class offerings within a fast-moving industry
All Classes Require: Step-by-step instruction with down-camera, multiple check-ins with students each class, inviting students to share, affirmations, encouraging questions, offering feedback, and managing chatbox.

- 2-minute recorded teaching demo. Email to youngillustratorsstudio@gmail.com. You can use a free zoom call with yourself on your computer and connect your down camera for a second window. Screen record the zoom meeting. The video should show your face in a well-lit professional setting, and your down-camera demonstrating step by step instruction for a class of 3-10 kids ages 6-9, 8-12 or teens in Procreate, painting or drawing. This is an opportunity to show off your teaching style and how you will engage with learners in an online setting.
Compensation:
• 40% of Outschool tuition payments go directly to the instructor. Future classes offered off Outschool platform will pay 50% of tuition, and priority will be given to current teachers.

• This is a contractor position with pay based on tuition.
