Call for MAGICFEST Makers' Market and Artist Showcase
This summer, Eyelevel is partnering with The Magic Project to bring to life "MAGICFEST: Music and Activism", a music and arts festival which will take place the weekend of August 25-26, 2018. Organizers Kate MacDonald and Emma Paulson aim to bring marginalized communities to the forefront of popular culture and discussion using art and photography. The vision for MAGICFEST is to highlight local talent while also prioritizing marginalized communities and voices. The festival will feature artistic expression with a component of education. Halifax's brilliance and creativity will be highlighted with local talent.

Eyelevel and the Magic Project will be hosting a makers' market during MAGICFEST, from 4 PM until 10 PM on Saturday August 25th, while various musical acts perform. We encourage artists and artisans to apply to set up a vendor's booth in Eyelevel's project room during this time to sell their work. Eyelevel will provide tables on a first come, first serve basis. Vendors are responsible for providing their own decorations, equipment, and point of sales necessary to run the table. There is no cost to participate. All profits made during the market go directly to the artist.

In addition to this, an artist showcase will be installed from 4 PM on Saturday August 25th until 3PM on Sunday August 26th, in Eyelevel's flex room. We encourage artists to apply to exhibit their work during this time. Eyelevel can provide some basic installation tools upon request. Artists are responsible for installing and dismantling their own work. There is no cost to participate.
