We welcome self-published authors to consign their books at the store, but we do not accept books published by Amazon.
We want to say YES to local authors (limited to people who live on the Western Slope of Colorado) and we do this by taking books on consignment. On consignment, the book remains the property of the consignor until it is sold. If you would like your book considered for our shelves, please follow our consignment guidelines:
1. Complete the following form
2. Upon acceptance, sent via email, the Consignment Agreement will be sent to you
3. Please bring completed Consignment Agreement with your books (up to three of each approved title) to the bookstore during open hours
4. Consignment terms are 60/40 (60% to the authors and 40% to the bookstore).
5. Author payments are made quarterly and we do contact you by email if a book has sold.
6. It is the author's responsibility to touch base with the bookstore at the end of the 90 day agreement. Agreements can be extended if both the author and bookstore agree. It is the author's responsibility to restock their books as they sell.
We are proud to support local authors through our consignment program. We do our best to provide shelf space for consignment books, while still keeping in mind our inventory needs and the interests of our customers.
