Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation Residency Artists are curated through an open application process, and final selections are chosen by a panel of industry professionals. Applications will be assessed based on existing exposure of the artist, the quality of the application, the work sample and the project proposed.

APPLICATION CRITERIA: Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation supports the creative process and developing ideas of choreographers. Artists are encouraged to produce a new work that is no longer then 15 minutes.Artists are expected to develop ideas that are primarily movement-based. Interdisciplinary and collaborative works are welcomed. Artists must apply as individuals. Group or collaborative applications must have a lead applicant.Applicants must be current residents of New York City with a permanent mailing address in one of the five boroughs.Applicants who have been an AIR with Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation must wait one year before re-applying (i.e. an AIR in Cycle 3 of 2018 can’t apply until Cycle 3 of 2019) Artists who applied to our previous cycle but weren’t selected are encouraged and welcome to apply again.
