Join us for Community Observation Nights at the SKAE Astronomy Center, a new state-of-the-art facility featuring a 24-inch Cassegrain telescope housed in a steel Ash-Dome.

These evenings invite stargazers of all ages to explore the night sky, observe planets, stars, comets, and galaxies, and enjoy engaging astronomy programming.

Please note: Events are weather permitting. If an evening must be canceled, we’ll post updates on the College’s website.

Acknowledgment of Risk: I, the undersigned, acknowledge that visiting the SKAE Astronomy Center at St. Thomas Aquinas College involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, use of scientific equipment, exposure to weather conditions, and other hazards associated with outdoor and indoor observatory environments. I voluntarily assume all such risks.

2. Waiver and Release: If no fee is charged, I release and discharge St. Thomas Aquinas College, its trustees, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers (the “College”) from liability for injury or damage, except where prohibited by law. If a fee is charged, I understand this event may be considered a recreational activity under NY law. I accept the risks of participation and agree that the College is not liable for injuries or damages except those caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

3. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the College from claims, damages or expenses arising from my actions or failure to comply with College rules and staff instructions.

4. Medical Authorization: In the event of injury or illness during my visit, I authorize the College and emergency responders to provide or obtain medical treatment deemed necessary. I understand I am responsible for all medical expenses.

5. Compliance with College Policies: I agree to comply with all College rules, regulations, and staff instructions during my visit.
