The "Teach Bilingual CA" (BTPDP) San Luis Obispo County Office of Education Consortium (Kern, Kings, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties) invites you to apply to the Bilingual Authorization Program: Spanish for the 2018-19 academic year. This multi-region, multi-county consortium will assist in meeting the demands of rural, remote and underserved portions of each county.

Financial assistance for coursework tuition or required testing will be covered if accepted to the Bilingual Teacher Professional Development Program Grant.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR GRANT APPLICATION ARE LISTED BELOW:

Employed as a certificated employee in a local school district within the consortium.

Meet all requirements for the Bilingual Authorization set by the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). For more information, refer to the CTC "Requirements for Bilingual Authorization". The Bilingual Authorization can be done through coursework, testing or a combination of courses and tests.

If accepted, completion of either coursework at an approved program OR passing scores on CSET Spanish Subtests III, IV, and V will be required.

Cal Poly SLO offers the coursework and a separate application is required and due April 30, 2018 as well. Two cohorts of 20 students will start in Fall 2018 for the Bilingual Authorization Program at Cal Poly.
