The Human Rights Centre Uganda (HRCU) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 with the sole aim of contributing to the protection and promotion of rights of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) in Uganda.

HRCU in collaboration with Phenomenal Women Uganda are organizing the second Women Human Rights Defenders Conference under the theme; "Step into your purpose and refocus for 2020" on 12th December 2019, Kampala.
Below are the topics to be discussed.
- Labour Export and Associated Human Rights Violations and Abuses
- Women Innovators, Social Media and Branding
- Women’s Beauty, Wellness and Fashion
- Women, the Law and Human rights

Phenomenal Women Uganda (PWU) is a non-profit organization affiliated to Phenomenal Women Global in Geneva, Switzerland which has a mission to empower and provide leadership skills to women and girls in order for them to achieve their personal and professional goals, in particular those from undeserved communities.

HRCU would like to interest all Women Human Rights Defenders; individuals and organisations in attending the Conference.

HRCU is therefore, inviting applications from Women Human Rights Defenders, both individuals and organizations who are passionate and strive for the promotion and protection of the rights of women.
Women Human Rights Defenders; both individuals and organizations in all the regions in Uganda are eligible to apply to the Conference.

HRCU does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status or sexual orientation.
Application procedure
In order to apply, all interested persons or organizations should fill the form in this form.
In that form, the applicants shall be requested to include their personal details and in case of an organization, the personal details of the person that shall represent the organization at the Conference and also briefly, in 100 words or less, state how one’s participation in this Conference will enhance their capacity as a Women Human Rights Defender.
The deadline for submission of applications is 29th November 2019 at 5:00pm
Late submissions shall not be accepted.
Applicants will be notified within 2 weeks after the closing date about the status of their applications.
