The Global Food Institute at the George Washington University and the Aspen Institute’s Food Leaders Fellowship have embarked on a multi-year partnership to unite academics and practitioners seeking to change the world through the power of food. We achieve this by supporting GW faculty and staff and Aspen Fellows on collaborative research and initiatives that address the most pressing challenges facing the food system, and by educating the next generation of diverse, values-driven food leaders across our student body. As part of this partnership, GW faculty or staff and Aspen Fellows can together apply for modest financial or in-kind support to help facilitate their collaboration. Funds can be used to cover one of three categories:
- Collaborative Research Projects
- Event Partnerships
- Student Course Projects
More details on each can be found here.
The GFI and Aspen teams are open to other ideas too, so don’t hesitate to reach out if there is something you are envisioning!
GFI, the Aspen Institute, and GW’s Planet Forward will help give publicity to the collaborative activities carried out under this partnership.
Please note: This is a two-year pilot partnership between the Aspen Food Leaders Fellowship and GW's Global Food Institute, with limited funding available, though with hopes of expansion. We will do our best to support all ideas with either financial or in-kind support, however are grateful for your understanding that there will be limits to our resources and capacity at this point.
