Come be in community with us this March! We're hosting a Hangout on Friday, March 21, 2-3:30 pm ET and an Incredibly Chill Art Share on Friday, March 28, 2-4 pm ET -- both on Zoom! You are welcome to attend one or both, an entire event or just a portion! You can also let us know on this form if you'd like to present at the Art Share.
About LAB Hangouts
LAB Hangouts are hosted as an open-structured virtual social space for disabled artists to connect and get to know one another. Hangouts offer space to talk about disability, art making, creative practices, life hacks and tips, dreams, desires, disability wisdom, and more. You’re welcome to bring ideas for conversation or a bit of art that inspires you. LAB Producers, morgaine de leonardis and Camisha Jones, will loosely guide the gathering, offering topics and questions as needed. Come meet and be with us!
About the LAB Incredibly Chill Art Share
Art Shares provide space for a few creatives to informally present some of their work to others who attend. It could be a dance, poetry, a painting, a song, a draft of a new work, a short performance clip or captioned video, or something else! Art Shares are LAB Hangout-style and an opportunity for creatives to practice making their art more accessible for disability communities.
Interested in Presenting at the Art Share?
Let us know by Wednesday, March 12 via this form if you'd like to present and more information will be sent to you. We'll be accepting 4 creatives to be in the spotlight. LAB Co-Producers are available to offer guidance and some support for presenters as they share the responsibility with us of centering accessibility at the gathering.
ABOUT THE SPACE
LAB gatherings are specifically for artists and creatives who identity with or who have personal experience with disability, including but not limited to those who identify as chronically ill, neurodivergent, MAD, Deaf/deaf/HOH, Blind, low vision, having learning or intellectual disabilities, and on. This cross-disability space welcomes all who are unsure or who might not yet identify with disability identity and culture.
