GFMER Online Training Course on child and adolescent health in humanitarian settings - "Enhancing child and adolescent health outcomes, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean Region" - Application Form
The Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER) in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) announces the online training course on child and adolescent health in humanitarian settings: Enhancing child and adolescent health outcomes, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (CAHHS 2024).
Objectives:
The course aims to develop a deeper understanding of child and adolescent health in humanitarian settings by:
- Ensuring the comprehensive coverage of children’s health needs from birth through adolescence.
- Building capacity in child and adolescent health within emergency contexts in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
- Providing programmatic guidance aligned with the operational guide’s key chapters: coordinate, assess and prioritize, respond, and monitor, evaluate and review.
- Employing a structured approach that complements existing standards and resources.
Topics:
Module 1: Coordinate – how to take a coordinated approach to child and adolescent health in a humanitarian emergency. Includes an introduction webinar on the effect of emergencies on children and adolescents in the Eastern Mediterranean Region
Module 2: Assess and prioritize – how to gather data on child and adolescent health through needs assessment and use the data to prioritize actions
Module 3: Respond (part 1 & 2) – how to plan and carry out a coordinated set of activities to deal with the identified child and adolescent health priorities
Webinar - on country’s experience – success stories
Module 4: Monitor, evaluate and review – how to use data systems to reviews and improve child and adolescent health-related activities
