The Faraway Nearby (TFN) is a curatorial project that explores the dialogue as a navigation tool, engaging in a 5-month long conversation that maps the ways we converge, pass on, sympathize and ally as Asian women and trans, non-binary artists living in New York City sharing the same present-time at different points in life.
For this third cycle, the project will take on the shape of zines and mail-art as well as holding an online presence. Looking at creative ways dialogue can happen between artists, partners will collaborate over the months to put shape to their unique way of coming together, checking-in, collaborating and exchanging.
The Faraway Nearby 2025 Artist Cohort:
- Anjuli Rathod and Meena Hasan
- June Kitahara and Kana Motojima
- Khanh LeLe and Aliza Katzman
- Soeun Bae and Kai Oh
As an effort to connect and engage outside of social media platforms, each month TFN will put out a zine housing a month’s conversation between the artists along with responses and submissions from the community. Each zine will house a month's dialogue material from our artist pairs in additional to select responses, interviews, visual and reading materials, etc.
Please submit the form below to subscribe to our DIRECT ZINE MAILING: Each month we will mail a zine directly to your preferred mailing address via USPS.
