Excellence in Volunteer Management Award

Celebrating the achievements and honoring the contributions of volunteer administrators in Southwest Idaho.

As a nation, we recognize the unselfish contribution of others through volunteer service. Volunteers truly are the backbone of a community’s success. However, behind this army of volunteers stands an equally dedicated group of individuals who are responsible for the coordination, support, training, administration and recognition of the world’s volunteers—the professional Volunteer Management Administrator.

The goal of the DOVE Awards, sponsored through SouthWest Idaho Directors of Volunteer Services (SWIDOVS), is to recognize annually volunteer administrators for their outstanding contributions to the profession and to their colleagues and for their promotion of quality volunteer experiences in Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, Valley, and Washington counties in Idaho.

Award winners will be celebrated in conjunction with International Volunteer Managers Day at an awards ceremony November 1, 2018.

Excellence in Volunteer Management Award
The Excellence in Volunteer Management Award celebrates the best leaders in volunteer administration. This award category promotes individuals who reflect the high ideals of the profession. Successful candidates in this award category have demonstrated proficiency in effective volunteer management. This individual promotes the success and stewardship of others before self and advocates for volunteer rights. The successful candidate in this category is a champion for volunteer engagement. This volunteer manager cultivates others and the profession by giving presentations at workshops or conferences, maintains volunteer related professional memberships, and remains relevant and skilled by participating in continuing education and professional development programs.
Eligibility
Nominees in the Excellence in Volunteer Management Award category must be a Volunteer Manager and served in such a position for 2 or more years. A Volunteer Manager is defined as someone who coordinates, leads, or organizes volunteers or administers a volunteer program in a paid or unpaid capacity
