2020 RYLA/YRYLA Team Leader Application
This is the first year to fully implement the use of "Team Leader" in place of "Counselor".
Application Deadline
The deadline for submitting Team Leader applications is November 30, 2019. Selection of Team Leader is anticipated to be announced on February 1, 2020.
Which RYLA? *
A new program, Young RYLA or YRYLA, for middle schoolers was first held in 2017 and again in 2018 and 2019. To be eligible to be a team leader at RYLA 2020 or YRYLA 2020 an applicant must have attended Iowa RYLA. RYLA 2020 dates: Conference & Pre-conference at Grinnell College -- 5:00 pm, July 17 to 3:00 pm, July 24; Training -- 5:00 pm, June 19 to Noon, June 21. YRYLA 2020 dates: Camp and pre-camp at Waldorf University in Forest City -- 5:00 pm, July 10 to 3:00 pm, July 17; Training - 5:00 pm, Friday to Noon, Sunday, location and weekend date in June to be determined. RYLA Team Leader Applicants -- Training, Pre-RYLA, RYLA & Debrief
Team leaders are expected to be present at Training, Pre-RYLA, RYLA and the Debrief.

Training will be conducted at Grinnell College from 5:00 pm, Friday, June 19 to noon, Sunday, June 21.

Iowa RYLA 2020 will be held July 19 through July 24 at Grinnell College. Pre-RYLA begins on Friday, July 17 at 5:00 PM and ends with the start of RYLA. Post RYLA officially ends with lunch and the completion of the mini-debrief on July 24 at approximately 3:00 PM. Team leaders will be encouraged, but not required, to stay overnight, July 24 to rest and wind down before driving home.

The Debrief will be held on Saturday August 8 at Grinnell College.

Please complete and submit your application by November 30, 2019. Team leaders will be selected by the head counselors and announced by February 1, 2020.
YRYLA Team Leader Applicants -- Training, Pre-RYLA, RYLA & Debrief
Team leaders are expected to be present at Training, Pre-YRYLA, YRYLA and the Debrief.

Training will be Held from 5:00 pm, Friday, to noon, Sunday, weekend in June and location to be announced.

Iowa YRYLA 2020 will be held July 12 through July 17 at Waldorf University in Forest City. Pre-YRYLA begins at 5:00 pm, Friday, July 10 and ends with the start of YRYLA. Immediately after YRYLA a lunch will be served followed by a Debrief, which is expected to end by 4:00 pm on July 17.
