The Bicycling Education and Empowerment Program for Seniors (BEEPS) is a free, bike safety and skills program designed to:
- Remove barriers to biking.
- Increase bicycling confidence.
- Promote physical activity.
- Equip people with the resources to experience the joy of bicycling.
Classes will take place over 6-weeks, with one two-hour lesson per week. To evaluate the program, we will provide surveys at 3 different time points throughout the program.Registration is open to adults 60+ years of age or older. This will take less than 5 minutes to complete. Please complete the form for each person who will participate (even if you are in the same household).
WHAT WILL I DO?
1. Complete an intake survey during the first class.
2. Attend one class per week for six weeks.
3. Complete three surveys (optional).
HOW WILL I BE SUPPORTED?
Participants will receive:
** Six bicycle safety and skills training classes from certified instructors
** Bike safety supplies
** Celebration bike ride
** Introduction to active, older adult bicycling groups and community
WHEN WILL I BE NEEDED?
Program Dates:
- Session 1: March 2026 - May 2026
- Session 2: May 2026 - June 2026

Each confirmed participant who meets the criteria — on a first come first serve registration basis — and completes the 6-week program will be eligible to receive a helmet and bike lights. Participants who complete all three surveys will be eligible for a $50 gift card.
