!! PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW !!

Welcome aboard! On behalf of the entire SailBlind team, I want to extend our deepest gratitude and excitement for you joining (or returning to) our program. You are now part of a community that is passionate, dedicated, and committed to making a profound difference in the lives of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Ways to Participate:

1. Blind or visually impaired sailor: interested in learning how to sail!

2. Sighted guide: have prior sailing experience, accompany sailors on the water, offering clear verbal guidance and assistance while fostering a sense of independence and confidence. You'll help navigate the boat, provide direction during maneuvers, and ensure that the sailor feels comfortable and engaged throughout the journey.

3. Race Coach ($300 gift card!): once a month (4 times total) setup race practices during our normally scheduled SailBlind, Saturday session for the sailors who are interested in pursuing sailboat fleet racing. Teach both on land and on the water. Incorporate drills and fun exercises!

4. Onshore volunteer: help with various tasks in helping the sailors and sighted guides prepare to go out on the water. If room allows, also come sailing!

5. Sailing Socializer volunteer (remote, $250 gift card!):  help plan and organize our monthly virtual social events, creating engaging and inclusive activities that bring our community together. Your creativity and organizational skills will be key in coordinating events that promote connection, fun, and support among our sailors, volunteers, and supporters. Additionally, you'll assist in drafting social media posts to share the highlights of our programs, celebrate milestones, and keep our community informed and inspired.
