The PUL Juniors Competitive Club Program will be returning for the second year with the boys team, Rogue Squadron and the girls team, Soar. There are two significant changes this year. Firstly, the program this year won’t be limited to U16, but instead, will be for youth aged 13-18. Secondly, we are hoping to have enough players come to the program that we will be able to have a second developing boys team in addition to Rogue Squadron.
The program is focused on providing a positive and fun environment for youth to develop skills, grow as athletes and excel in the sport of ultimate. PUL is seeking to promote a brand of youth ultimate that is focused on Spirit of the Game alongside team and individualistic development, and will provide the opportunity for youth to experience playing ultimate at a provincial level.
Please note that the competitive teams do not play in a league, but instead, participate in a program structured more around in-depth practices, with the prospect of a couple of tournaments and the occasional exhibition game. Visit the Juniors tab at www.pultimate.ca for more information.
Expectations: Players are expected to commit to attending practices and tournaments. Focus is on skill development and practices will be structured to improve key elements of ultimate skills including fitness, throwing, catching, cutting, strategy, and team play. Practices will be a good mixture of fun and hard work.
