Date:Feb 12th 2019, Eastern Time Zone USA.
All-remote: Give your talk from anywhere, so long as it is quiet and has good internet.
Pre-recorded backup: For 2019 we're requiring that speakers supply a backup of their talk (as a Youtube or other hosted video). Why? Every year we get at least one speaker who has either an insurmountable problem getting online to present, or a glitch in our web conferencing software. So for 2019, we want to ensure that our audience doesn't miss a thing.
Duration: Any, up to 50 minutes (including optional 5 minutes for Q&A).
Free event, unpaid: we're entirely volunteer run and don't charge for tickets. So we can't pay speakers (sorry). But we do encourage attendees to donate to nominated charities, so the event does at least raise money for good causes. We raised over $10k in 2018.
Code of Conduct:http://sustainableux.com/codeofconduct/
Diversity: We are committed to having as diverse a line-up of speakers as possible. We are signatories of diversitycharter.org.
