Thank you for your interest in being a Mentor! Not only will your participation give you the opportunity to positively impact the field of philanthropy and share your passion for this work, but it will also deepen your own leadership strengths while growing your statewide network.
The CMF Leadership Development and Mentoring Program is an opportunity for experienced leaders and those who are new to the field to develop professional relationships with one another and engage in a community of peer learning.
Our curriculum centers principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and features one-to-one customized coaching and assessments to better understand and strengthen the Emerging Leaders' style of leadership. Over the course of this six-month program we also explore topics such as emotional intelligence, personal values and career development. The core of the program is the mentoring relationship between experienced and emerging leaders.
The 2025 CMF Leadership Development and Mentoring Program is slated to include both virtual and in-person elements. A mentor participant orientation will take place in November or December 2024. The first workshop with the full cohort will be held in December 2024 or January 2025.
Mentor Requirements: Please note that you must be a current member of CMF to participate. - You have a minimum of 7 years in philanthropy.
- You can commit to the time requirements of the program, which includes monthly cohort workshops and 1:1 meetings with an emerging leader partner (approx. 4-8 hours per month).
- You are able to participate from approximately November – June of the program year. Dates of workshops, which primarily take place one Friday a month, will be provided if you are asked to participate.
Completing this form does not guarantee that you will be paired with an Emerging Leader in the current cohort year, as we strive to match Emerging Leaders with mentors based on a variety of factors (i.e., role, foundation type). However, we welcome anyone who is interested in participating in this, or a future cohort, to apply at any time. Mentor matches will be made in September/October and potential mentors will be contacted throughout October/November.
