Public Defender Coalition for Immigrant Justice
We define “public defenders” as public defender offices or indigent defender organizations, which include any court or government-appointed entity representing indigent people in the criminal legal system, including people facing criminal charges, convictions, sentencing, and incarceration; or whose legal representation arises from criminal legal system contact.
To join the PD Coalition for Immigrant Justice you must meet our definition of public defender and agree with the Ten Point Plan and Mission statement. Someone will reach out and share our principles and decision making structure before formally adding you to our members list!
