Spring '16 EAVP Legislative Advocacy Interest Form
The ASUC Office of the External Affairs Vice President is responsible for advocating on policy issues* that affect students locally, state-wide, and nationally. The Legislative Affairs department within EAVP organizes effective lobbying in order to ensure student input is heard by lawmakers and elected officials. LegAffairs will frequently bring students to Berkeley local offices, Bay Area districts, and the state Capitol (plus occasional DC trips) to advocate on policies and legislation that students care about.

Please fill out the below form if you are interested in hearing about opportunities for lobbying elected officials this semester.

* A few issues in EAVP Navid's platform (and in general) that we will likely focus on:
- Housing affordability
- Tuition & financial aid (those hikes won't stay gone for long, folks)
- Sexual assault/survivor support
- Mental health
- Living wages/labor relations
- Food security
- Student input in admin decision-making (UC Board of Regents, UC Office of the President, etc.)

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to eavplegislative@asuc.org. We look forward to a very active and successful year of legislative advocacy!
