EXTERNAL ZONE
Corporate Liaison
  • Ensure corporate contacts and the sponsorship package are up to date.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all external relations. This includes initiating interest, maintaining communication with industry representatives, and coordinating their participation in events.
  • Organize and manage plans for hosting companies at TMSE events throughout the year.
  • Work with the communications team to promote TMSE on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
Technical Director
  • Lead project-based initiatives and technical workshops to help members develop their skills.
  • Organize hands-on technical workshops and certifications on relevant tools and techniques.
  • Serve as the main liaison with Texas Materials Institute (TMI) lab managers to coordinate resources and research partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the external team to invite guest speakers and companies for technical events.
  • Ensure clear role definitions and responsibilities for all participants in technical initiatives.
Treasurer
  • Manage finances to ensure financial stability and proper budgeting for TMSE.
  • Oversee budget management, dues, resource allocation, and financial analysis throughout the year.
  • Oversee and manage all financial sources for TMSE, including UFCU, TMI, and corporate sponsorships, as well as any food or clothing vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Internal zone to plan and organize fundraising events to support TMSE's financial goals.
  • Allocate funds for events such as socials, general meetings, and other TMSE initiatives.
  • Apply for internal and external funding.
INTERNAL ZONE
Programs Chair
  • Organize a variety of social and recreational events to build community and provide enjoyable experiences for members.
  • Work closely with the Co-President to understand member demographics, preferences, and participation trends, using this information to plan future events.
  • Explore potential partnerships with other organizations to co-host events or access additional resources.
  • Handle all logistical aspects to ensure events run smoothly, including securing supplies, managing registrations, and arranging transportation if needed.
Professional Development Chair
  • Share job, internship, and scholarship opportunities regularly with members.
  • Work closely with the Co-President to understand member demographics, preferences, and participation trends, using this data to plan relevant professional development events.
  • Plan events that cover diverse career paths and industries, catering to a broad spectrum of professional interests within the group.
  • Develop and maintain resources to support members' professional journeys, such as career guides, resume templates, interview tips, and job search resources.
  • Coordinating networking events or informational sessions with industry professionals to connect members with potential career opportunities.
COMMS ZONE
Historian
  • Visually document all meetings and events through photos and videos.
  • Edit pictures and collaborate with the PR Chair on managing TMSE’s social media accounts and newsletters.
  • Develop content to advertise and showcase TMSE’s accomplishments throughout the year.
  • Create semesterly recap posts and videos to reflect on TMSE’s milestones.
  • Contribute ideas for TMSE’s brand development.
Public Relations Chair
  • Manage the posting schedule for TMSE’s Instagram and LinkedIn accounts.
  • Create compelling captions and content to engage the target audience.
  • Assist Historian in documenting events, and creating compelling visuals for TMSE social media platforms
  • Assist in creating and posting TMSE’s monthly newsletter.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase and maintain media engagement across all platforms.
