MISLA- Made In South LA and VSEDC- Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation are dedicated to the elevation and social mobility of the community of South Los Angeles, CA. We work in the most distressed communities to bring about economic growth and stability. Full scholarships are for ages 10-18, unless otherwise stated. We will reward full Apprentice Scholarships to those most in need such as homeless, foster youth, those returning home from incarceration, living below the poverty level or on government assistance. In exchange for a full scholarship, or lab credits (we have video, photography and music studio) recipients will participate in an apprenticeship program of and 8:1 raion. For every 8 hours apprenticeship, we give them 1 hour lab or training. Apprentice responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, administrative work, light cleaning, graphic design, social media marketing, running errands, video editing, building websites, etc. Apprentices may also be asked to volunteer for our partnering non-profits.
