Menu: Weeknight Pasta Carbonara
Join NEIU alumni and students for a special virtual cooking class. Learn from a professional chef how to make carbonara pasta, an Italian pasta dish from Rome made with egg, hard cheese, cured pork, and black pepper (the recipe can also be modified to be vegetarian or gluten free). This dish is delicious, budget friendly and versatile!
Ingredients needed:
1c shredded parmesan
½ lb linguini noodles
1/2 lb pepper bacon
1tsp olive oil
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 tsp black pepper
Ingredients needed for vegetarian option:
1c shredded parmesan
1 1/2c sliced cremini mushroom (6-10 medium sized mushrooms)
1 ½ tbs olive oil 2 eggs
½ lb linguini noodles 2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp smoked paprika
