DC Zinefest and Fantom Comics are hosting a Zine Reading on Saturday July 22nd from 7–10pm. We're looking for zinesters to read their work aloud and would love to hear your work! Fantom Comics has a projector for us to show your zine as you read.
Please keep in mind the following guidelines:
- Masks are required for all readers and attendees.
- This is an evening event, so mature content is fine, but we hope readers exercise good judgment if younger people enter the store.
- Please keep readings to ~15 minutes max. If you'd like to present multiple zines, we'll have everyone go around once first then open the floor for additional readings and day-of signups.
- All work and attendees must comply with our Safer Spaces Policy: all DCZF events are intended to be a welcoming, engaging and supportive environment free of oppressive actions, behaviors, and language. Participants and attendees are asked to consider how their language and behavior impacts others in attendance. Racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination will not be tolerated, in materials or at the event itself.
Accessibility information: Fantom Comics is located in Dupont Circle at 2010 P St NW, Washington, DC 20036. Fantom Comics is on the second floor and there are 23 steps with a handrail up to the shop.
