Free 2-day workshops for 5th and 6th grade teachers
The mission of Swarovski Waterschool is to address global water challenges by empowering children with the knowledge and resources to lead change in sustainable development for present and future generations. Teacher workshops are for 5th and 6th grade teachers who want to educate their students about water and river systems and engage them in a community action project. Teachers will attend one of the 2-day workshops and will receive a free tool-kit, learning materials aligned to Common Core and NGSS, potential funding for stewardship activity implementation and transportation, and professional development hours. After the workshop, teachers are expected to facilitate community engagement activities with their students and complete follow-up surveys about how they are implementing the Swarovski Waterschool educational materials.
This opportunity is currently only available to teachers in districts along the Mississippi or Illinois rivers in the following counties*
Illinois: Alton, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Madison, or St. Clair
Missouri: St. Charles, St. Louis, or St. Louis City

*Priority is given to school districts closest to the river

We plan to expand the program to other regions along the Mississippi River after a successful first year launch. If you are outside of our target region and are interested in future teacher workshops, please complete the form and we'll keep you updated on future opportunities.
