CPI Traditional Refresher Class 11.21.17
The training is for any person who has already completed the initial Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within the last 12 months. This is the traditional one-day training with workbooks. Participants will be reminded of the Developmental Model, Nonverbal Behavior, Paraverbal Communications, Verbal Intervention, Precipitating Factors, Rational Detachment, Integrated Experience, Staff Fear and Anxiety, CPI's Personal Safety Techniques, Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention and Team Intervention and Postvention. Participants will demonstrate their understanding of each of these units on a written test. Participants will complete a skills assessment demonstrating their level of competence in keeping them self safe and completing a restraint when absolutely necessary.
