PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE: Minimum $10 million cover (must be current at 18-03-2018)
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN WEERAMA PARADE
1. Participation in the Weerama Parade by Community and Business Groups is on a voluntary basis
2. The Weerama Festival Committee and Parade Co-ordinator reserves the right to determine the number of entries in the Procession.
3. Parade entries should be suitably decorated and include a colourful side curtain or banner.
4. The Weerama Parade subcommittee reserves the right to either decline or suggest re-applying to applicants considered not up to standard.
5. Persons participating in the parade must be either in a suitable costume or uniform.
NOTE: If showcasing vehicles, e.g. bicycles/cars, discretionary exemption of dress code applies.
6. No offensive clothing/costume, decoration or content will be permitted.
7. Weerama and its appointed Parade staff and volunteers, reserve the right to refuse participation on the day, if 'entries' are not as described or fail to meet criteria, or if there are any safety concerns.
8. It is the responsibility of the Procession entrants to affect any insurance cover for the duration of Weerama in respect of entries, vehicles and individuals.
9. The Weerama Festival Committee will not accept any responsibility for damages to floats or loss or damage to personal property or injury to personnel or animals.
10. Procession participants agree to obey the direction of Marshals and Weerama staff/volunteers at all times.
11. All vehicles participating in the Procession must have current registration and licensed drivers.
12. Offensive or dangerous behaviour is not acceptable and offending persons will be removed immediately. No smoking during the parade.
13. Any animals in the Parade must be under full control of their handler/s at all times and are to be on a secure leash or securely contained (e.g. cage) as appropriate.

Please Note: EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO KEEP MOVING IN A FORWARD DIRECTION AND KEEP REASONABLY CLOSE TO THE FLOAT IN FRONT. GROUP ENTRIES MUST NOT EXTEND WHILE MARCHING.

All participants are required to follow instructions of parade marshals at all times. The leader of each parade entry will be responsible for the behaviour of it participants.
