AMEL Speakers Bureau Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the Speakers Bureau of the African Middle Eastern Leadership Project (AMEL)! The Bureau provides speech-crafting, storytelling and public speaking training to young leaders of Middle Eastern and African origin who are living in the United States (temporarily or permanently). Once trained, the speakers bring their stories of activism, bridge-building and hope to audiences across the U.S, sparking dialogue and positive action among diverse audiences.

The first campaign of the AMEL Speakers Bureau is a partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)'s New York/New Jersey Region. The joint campaign, entitled My Voice Our Future, focuses on public events at college campuses and community centers across the New York/New Jersey area. Preparation for these speaking engagements is done through online training (approximately a 12-20 hour time commitment spread across 4 months) and a final 2-day in-person workshop. Following the training, speakers are then deployed to events to share their stories related to topics such as combatting anti-Semitism, anti-Muslim bigotry, racism, and hatred; advancing women’s rights and LGBT rights; protecting minorities and marginalized groups; promoting interfaith cooperation; combatting exclusion and bridging differences and divides. Find out more on www.myvoiceourfuture.org.

With time, additional campaigns and events will be organized. If you would like to become an AMEL speaker, please fill out the application below or write to us at info@amelproject.org with any questions. If you're not sure if you qualify, or would like to be involved in another way, you can also email at info@amelproject.org.

Applications for AMEL Speakers Bureau will be considered on an ongoing rolling basis.
