This position will divide time between two primary roles – the planning and carrying out of the kidsCrossings Ministry, and building spiritually encouraging relationships with the teens and their families.
ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER - Homes will be strengthened by helping parents to love their kids and teens, and kids and teens to love their parents. - Kids and students will find friendships and encouragement from one another. - Kids and students will have rich connections to the body that will last a lifetime.
SERVING EAGERLY - Kids and students will learn to love and serve the world God has made. - Kids and students will learn to bring others to know God and His church.- Kids, students, and parents will be provided opportunities to serve the body at MX, and the wider community. - Kids and Students will reach out to others through mission trips both domestic and foreign.
I. kidsCrossings (0-5th grade) - 1/2x
Planning Set direction and vision of kidsCrossings. Recruit and train volunteers. Research and manage curriculum. Coordinate Children’s Worship. Offer practical teacher training, and training resources through media presence and promotion. Leverage leaders across generations to carry out ministry. Maintain a calendar of events.
Coordination and Implementation Schedule and coordinate volunteers. Set-up classrooms for Sunday events. Be fully present on Sunday mornings for successful programming - welcoming, check-in, setting the theme and tone for the day, and “troubleshooting,” as needed. Offer coordination on Sunday mornings. Aware of special needs kids and assist with success of Sensory Room. Primary planner for key events like VBS, Daddy-Daughter Dance, etc.
II. Build Relationships with Students (6th-12th) - 1/2x
Invest concentrated energies building Christ-centered relationships with students and parents. Support the teaching, activities, programs, and missions of the Student Ministry as reasonably able.
Be a baptized believer who is actively working to strengthen his/her own relationship with God through reading Scripture, prayer, and “one another” relationships. Keep regular church office hours. Reasonable weekly work hours would include a minimum of 40 hours per week divided into approximately 20 hours in the office and 20 hours in activities and 1-1 time with students and / or their parents. The KidsCrossings and Family Minister will also make himself or herself available during emergencies. On a consistent basis work side by side with the other MX Family Ministers on individual and family milestones, family faith formation, and cross-generational integration. Work closely with Senior Minister and staff for a cohesive and united MX Church, participating in leadership and staff meetings. Accountable to other Family Ministers and Senior Minister for day to day ministry, and Milestone Ministry supervised by a Steering Team comprised of the Senior Minister, a Shepherding Couple, and one or two MX members. Protect at all times the physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental welfare of each child teen, or adult, and will follow appropriate practices of interaction, communication, supervision, and confidentiality to this end. Fulfill other duties as agreed upon with the family ministers, or as assigned by the Elders or Senior Minister.
