Register interest in the Volunteer Firefighters’ Financial Support Program, Tasmania
At the end of January 2020, the Tasmanian Government will start to administer the Commonwealth Government's Volunteer Firefighters’ Financial Support Program, which is designed to help volunteer firefighters who have put time into volunteering in the current fire season.
The program will provide payments to eligible volunteer firefighters who are self-employed or employed by small and medium businesses and have lost income as a result of volunteering for more than 10 days.
Payments of up to $300 per day, with a total cap of $6000, will be available in the 2019-20 financial year. The payments are tax-free and not means-tested.
