- If applying for more than one fellowship, only one common application per year is needed (except for the following which have their own application:

- Fellowships include a complimentary IRE membership/renewal ($25 for students/$75 for pros) and a complimentary registration (varies).
- All recipients are required to meet IRE's membership standards: Someone substantially engaged in news gathering, presentation or production; a student pursuing a degree or someone engaged full-time in research or teaching in the field of journalism.
- Eligibility for IRE fellowships renews every three years. For example, if you received a fellowship in 2024, you will be eligible again in 2027.
- Application requires: resume/CV/LinkedIn profile, college transcript (for students).
- Application requires: one to two clips of investigative or journalistic work, if applicable.
- Application encourages: A letter of support.
