FORMAT: Online via Zoom

PRESENTER: Nicole Furlonge, Professor and Director, Klingenstein Center, Columbia University, New York

DESCRIPTION: As educator leaders, we are carrying so much as we lead in the context of pandemic and amidst amplified calls to create inclusive schools where all students thrive. In this session, we will explore how to cultivate and actively design a school that LEARNS. We will focus on and practice nurturing -- the "N" in LEARNS -- to think about the care and nurture we bring to the work of being leaders in schools. Through that lens, we will consider these questions: How might we better care for ourselves as we care for our school communities? How might schools function as organizations that build in continuous learning for faculty, staff, administrators, parents, and Board members? How might DEI and anti-oppression work be embedded in such continuous professional learning?
