Tell the Supreme Court it’s immoral to criminalize homelessness!
Kairos Center is seeking organizational sign-ons for their interfaith Amicus Brief for the Johnson v. Grants Pass case that will be heard before the Supreme Court on April 22nd, 2024. This case will, in short, determine if it is constitutional to cite and arrest people who are experiencing homelessness when adequate shelter beds and housing are not available. Kairos Center's brief will argue that punishing people for being poor and unhoused is immoral and goes against teachings from all major faith traditions. This brief is currently being drafted and will be available to signatories before it's submitted on April 1st. For more details, visit here. Sign on by March 20th, and help us spread the word!
