What is a developmental screening? A developmental screening is simply a list of questions parents answer about how their child learns, plays, and communicates. It's a quick way to see if your child is developing appropriately. It takes approximately 35 minutes for a parent to complete questions by phone.
How this works:
- Register each eligible child separately, using this form. This is for Monterey County children, ages 0 - 5 years old, who are not already receiving services through the San Andreas Regional Center or their school district. If you have multiple children under the age of 5 years old that meet the criteria of not already receiving services, Special Kids Connect will happily screen each and offer FREE DIAPERS for each child screened.
- During our screening call, you can arrange a time to pick up your FREE DIAPERS from Special Kids Connect's Salinas office.
- If you answers to the screening questions indicate a developmental concern, we will notify you and offer suggestions for next steps.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is for children who are NOT already receiving services through the San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) or their school district.
