THE APPLICATION PERIOD HAS CLOSED. If you are interested in learning about future workshops, please fill out the form below to be added to our interest list.
This is a pilot program, and will only be offered to residents of the Reno-Carson area. If you are interested in future workshops, we anticipate we will be able to offer the workshop to a larger geographic area in early 2026.
If you are outside of the greater Reno area, please fill out the name and email portions of the form and we will notify you when we announce additional workshop dates.
In-person workshop sessions will be approximately three hours long and will take place the weeks of September 29th, October 13th, October 27th, November 10th, and December 8th. Exact dates and times will depend on applicant preferences.
We anticipate that "homework" activities outside of the workshop sessions will take 3 to 5 hours per week.
What is a CWPP? A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is a locally developed plan that identifies wildfire risks and outlines community-specific actions to reduce those risks. It helps communities prioritize mitigation projects, strengthen preparedness, and access funding. This workshop will walk participants through the creation of a CWPP.
Who is this workshop for? This free workshop is for teams of 2–5 people from the same community—such as HOA board members, neighborhood leaders, or community wildfire preparedness groups.
No technical background required—just a willingness to work with neighbors and lead your community toward wildfire preparedness.
Thank you for your interest in helping your community become more prepared for wildfire!
