Pre-Venture Planning for Entrepreneurs  May 6, 2025 at 12pm. 

This training is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of developing a business idea. Participants will learn key financial concepts, understand credit basics, assess the viability of their business idea, and navigate the initial steps of starting a business. The session will also provide insights into local resources and funding opportunities available in Southwest Virginia. Through practical guidance and strategic planning, attendees will gain the knowledge and confidence to move forward with their entrepreneurial journey.

Session led by Justin Lewis. 

Justin Lewis is the Trainer and Technical Assistance Specialist at People Incorporated Financial Services (PIFS), a mission-driven CDFI in southwest Virginia. An NACCC™ Certified Credit Counselor and entrepreneur, Justin leads PIFS’ technical assistance programs, fostering financial readiness and entrepreneurship across the region. He collaborates with local communities and partners to identify and address barriers within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Before transitioning to community economic development, Justin spent 18 years as a professional theatre artist, producing over 80 productions, mentoring students, and collaborating with industry professionals. He is currently pursuing an MBA from Radford University and resides in Abingdon, VA with his wife and two daughters.



This workshop is presented by the Chamber of Commerce in Partnership with People Inc. Workshop will be held on Tuesday may 6 at 12pm at the Community College in Stuart.
