SHPE NYC Scholarship 2018 : Undergraduate Application
// Scholarship Program Overview //
• Scholarship awards will range from $500-$1,000
• Students will be selected by the committee for one of the following awards:
> Community Outreach & Leadership - Recognizing SHPE students who are actively promoting the SHPE mission
> Academic Achievement - Recognizing SHPE students who have excelled academically. (GPA of 3.3/4.0 or above)
• Awards will be distributed to students once the scholarship requirements are confirmed

// Eligibility Requirements //
• Currently attending and will be attending one of the colleges/universities (NY/NJ state area) in the list provided in the application during the academic year of 2018-2019
• Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Must be a paid SHPE undergraduate member at time of application submission
• Applicants must be of Hispanic/Latino descent
• While students of all disciplines are eligible to apply, preference will be given to those pursuing degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
• US Citizens and non-citizens are eligible to apply
• Application and all supporting documents must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on 12/8/2018

An unofficial copy of your current (Fall 2018) transcript is acceptable. However, all scholarship recipients will be required to submit an official transcript before scholarship funds are distributed

Please upload your current resume. The resume should include: Work Experience, Leadership Experience, Community Service, Scholarships, Awards, Honors and any other accomplishments
Letter of recommendation (optional)
Letter(s) of recommendation supporting your community outreach efforts (preferably from your SHPE chapter president, community leader, professor, school administrator or employer)
