PiP (Play in the Park) Leader Application 2020
Play in the Park (PiP) is a summer program jointly facilitated by the WRPS Wellness Support Team and the City of Wetaskiwin’s Manluk Centre. It runs twice weekly during July and August and features activities for children aged 3 to 14.
This program is FREE, and occurs at various parks around the City of Wetaskiwin. The goal of this program is to get children active and outside during the summer, while also allowing them to socialize and build friendships with others.
The PiP program also allows Wetaskiwin students in grades 5 to 12 to build leadership skills through the PiP Leader program. Leaders are volunteers who come to the park and help support activities for the other children. They are responsible for ensuring the inclusion of all children, maintaining the cleanliness of the park, as well as resolving conflicts that arise during the activities. They have the opportunity to socialize with peers from other schools and build lasting friendships.
Leaders must be at least 12 years of age to volunteer for Play in the Park.
Everyone interested in being a Leader for Play in the Park must complete an application. Applications are to be submitted online through this Google Form. All applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Acceptance into the program will be at the discretion of the Program Facilitators.
The information collected in the form is to be used to contact leaders and their parents/guardians to provide information regarding training, to contact and inform the leader in the event of inclement weather where Play in the Park is canceled, and for emergencies.
