Alabama Archaeological Society Scholarship Application

The Alabama Archaeological Society (AAS) grants one award of $500 each year. The goal of these scholarships is to support outstanding students in anthropology who are pursuing degrees at the Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate level in the State of Alabama.

Application deadlines will be advertised on the AAS website as well as in the Stones & Bones newsletter.

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled as full-time students in the State of Alabama may apply for the scholarship. Applicants must have an academic sponsor or mentor complete portions of this application.

Students who wish to receive scholarship funds must show academic merit as evidenced by GPA, standardized test scores, honors, achievements in field or lab research, paper publications or papers with potential for publication, etc.

The Board of Directors will vote on the proposals and announce the winner at the Winter Meeting. Awards will be made in harmony with the objectives of the Society (Article III of the Constitution of the Alabama Archaeological Society). 


Applications for the scholarship grant, along with their academic mentor/advisor sponsor form, must be submitted by October 1 to be accepted for submission.
