We are excited to build out this exciting gender and racial justice SIG in the Comparative and International Education Society. The SIG leadership team promises to be collaborative feminist space.
Administrative Officer (2): The Administration Officer is responsible for documenting and organizing records for the Gender Justice SIG and providing critical administrative support for SIG programming. Responsibilities include: Keeping minutes for SIG meetings, etc; organizing and maintaining SIG records; setting up and attending SIG leadership team meetings (Doodles, Zoom links, etc); support in preparing and administering the SIG budget.
Communications Officer(1): The Communications Officer is responsible for SIG communications. The Communications Officer works closely with the GJ co-chairs and the CIES secretariat to run the SIG communications, including email campaigns, social media, and other arising communications. The Communications Officer will collaborate with the SIG co-Chairs and program coordinators in different matters concerning the review of the CIES Annual Conference proposal submissions.
Program Coordinator (2): The SIG’s Coordinator is responsible for shaping the GJ SIG’s vision and presence at the CIES annual conference. Specific responsibilities include: co-creating a call for proposals that reflects the overall conference theme, the Power of Protest (Miami, 2024); receiving paper/poster/roundtable proposals from the respective meeting organizers; organizing and completing the peer-review of proposals; and assigning highlighted and regular panels and related sessions from among the accepted proposals.
