Prima Jalichandra-Sakuntabhai: Chloropsis Aurifrons Pridii February 19 – February 28, 2021
The Fulcrum is pleased to announce the opening of Chloropsis Aurifrons Pridii, a performative lecture and multi-part installation of an archive by Prima Jalichandra-Sakuntabhai. While in residency at Fulcrum Press from January 4 - February 28, Prima gathered visual and written documentations on their great grand-uncle, Pridi Banomyong who was one of the minds behind the Siamese Revolution of 1932. Viewed as a threat to pro-monarchy forces, Pridi was forced into exile and his contribution to Thai modern history, erased. The archive is built from fictional accounts of the revolution in Yukio Mishima’s novels, Pridi’s out-of-print memoir, fragments of his writing that have been translated into English and family hearsay.
