Signup for Opportunity Hoarding Workshop on January 27
Please provide your email address to receive a Zoom link for "Should the Squeaky Wheel Get the Grease? Opportunity Hoarding in the Time of Covid" developed by several CPSD teachers. The workshop will take place on Wednesday, January 27 from 7pm to 9pm (rescheduled from January 12 due to the School Committee Special Meeting.

"After reading Despite the Best Intentions, two Cambridge teachers wanted to learn more about the impact of families with privilege on our public elementary schools. They conducted a study with elementary classroom teachers as part of the Building Equity Bridges grant. Come learn about their findings and what those findings mean for Cambridge families with privilege...especially during the pandemic. Be ready for critical reflection and difficult conversations. No shame, no blame: let's work together!"

We will explore questions such as...

- What is opportunity hoarding, and how do I know if I'm doing it?
- How might my actions have unintended consequences for teachers and classrooms?
- What can I do as a parent to support all families in the school?
- How does this all play out during COVID-19?

The facilitators have asked that participants read this article before the workshop: https://medium.com/@shaylargriffin/if-most-students-should-stay-home-what-do-i-do-with-my-kids-b7b7f32e11df.
